Blackhorse Asia Fund NT
Objective
The Blackhorse Asia Fund NT (BAF NT) is a specialized Asia ex-Japan long/short fund that seeks to capitalize on Asian growth while managing the inherently higher volatility present in the region's equity markets. The Fund targets a 16% annualized return, while minimizing risk through implementing short and other hedge strategies, as it deems appropriate. Utilizing the Manager's combined three decades of experience in Asian investment research, with Jonathan Ross focusing on tech, and John Engle handling non-tech investments, the Manager seeks to anticipate change and capitalize on pricing anomalies in:
- Domestic demand-driven plays
- Emerging leaders in the technology space
- Natural resource and undervalued asset plays
- Special situations
In addition to investing in the regions leading companies, the Manager believes it is uniquely positioned to capitalize on pricing anomalies in small and medium sized companies of which larger, global funds are either unaware or unable to invest. The Manager believes it can successfully and consistently identify the "winners and losers" as nimble Asian-based companies outmaneuver larger-cap companies as the region emerges form its extended downturn.
